I reinstalled my pc and wanted to configure my HP LaserJet6L. I installed cups, hplip and all the tools needed.
The configuring in cups goes well but when I try to print a testpage it processes and then stops and nothing gets printed.
I did a chmod 777 on /dev/lp0 to be certain I got enough permission. That didn't help, also in the logfiles there is nothing strange.
Now I got this error when trying to print something:
HPLaserJet6L "/usr/lib/cups/filter/foomatic-rip failed"
So I recompiled foomatic-filters, but that didn't help either. I tried the hplip driver and gutenprint, both don't work.
The driver I use now is: Printer Driver: HP LaserJet 6L Foomatic/hpijs.

I'm getting the same error on a HP PSC 1315 since update to CUPS 1.3.3

Interesting, if I use standard fonts like sans or monospace then the printing is ok, only if i try to use fonts that i installed later (like Inconsolata) that foomatic-rip crashes.
Here's my debug log from CUPS

Can you print the test page in cups? That's what I'm trying. I the logfiles I got the same error!

I can print the test page in CUPS now. A bit earlier it was not working. I can also print stuff with standard fonts; only with the fonts I installed it's causing a problem.

I can print from other applications but I can't print the testpage. Maybe this got something to do with each other: http://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=38205
