hi!
i just installed archlinux on my desktop pc (have been using it on my laptop for quite some time now) and discovered a strange X behaviour. while im moving around windows on the desktop the screen starts flickering on the right side of them (mostly on the heigth of the window). could there be something wrong with the vertical sync? didnt find any solutions on the net.
my desktopenvironment is xfce4
default colordepth is 32 at 1280x1024 .. the screen says 80Hz hor and 75Hz vert .. exactly the same settings are working perfectly under windows (so it should be possible in linux as well)

ok .. now i tried chaning the driver from ati to r128 .. still the same error ..
nobody that can help?
Offline
driver problem most likely, try google ati and crappy video quality...
upcoming ati drivers (fglrx) should have better video quality too.

the thing is that if i try to use fglrx i get a "No screens found" error and nothing else ... x server crashes directly .. modules are loaded and xorg.conf looks ok ..
EDIT: oh, actually it says no devices detected.
