Display special characters in zsh?

Hi all,
I've just installed zsh, which looks very cool, but as it happens for all the new things, I'm a bit lost. I was trying to figure out how to display characters such as "à è ì ò ù", since when I press those keys in zsh, nothing happens.

Any help is appreciated smile

Thank you.

You might try a different font.  Some font's don't have those characters.  Just an idea?

Re: Display special characters in zsh?

Thanks, I have tried changing fonts, but still I can't use those special characters... I am really wondering what is wrong, I have also recompiled zsh with unicode support, just to be sure...

Re: Display special characters in zsh?

Are you using a terminal with unicode support? And what is your LANG environment variable set to?

Re: Display special characters in zsh?

Yes, I'm using urxvt, and special characters were working with bash. My LANG environmental variable is en_GB.utf-8.

Re: Display special characters in zsh?

Hmm. Then I don't know. That sounds pretty similar to my setup, and mine is working properly.
