Hi.
Just found out that the new fglrx driver won't support the 2.6.23 kernel. So I wonder, will the arch team be using any hack to override this or do I have to download my kernel? And how do I download my kernel in Arch? Can I do that with pacman?

The older kernel should be in /var/cache/pacman/pkg if you have not cleared the cache yet. To install the older kernel just run pacman -U /var/cache/pacman/pkg/kernel26-2.6.22.9-1-i686.pkg.tar.gz. I do not know if you have to downgrade the kernel.

http://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php? … 81#p292281 here it says 2.6.23 could be supported through a couple of patches...

Nice. I hope Cerebral can fix it with his patches. It would be real sweet to use the new ATI-driver without downgrading to 2.6.22.

I have patched it for the new kernel. It's in testing currently - please use this thread to report your experiences with the new driver; I know mine have been unpleasant.
