Good evening,
I already have become sick of staring at the same screen several times while upgrading. Has this error message something to do with the server I am downloading from or is it a local problem?

Does anyone know this error? It has become extremely frequent throughout the last few days.

might just be your mirror - I did a quick check of ftp.archlinux.org and it's there - maybe try another?

Currently doing a rankmirror over all pacman server lists. I will respond with results afterwards.

A definite mirror failure. Changing the mirror did the trick.
