Supporting Arch

Hello, world!

I'm one of those happy IT administrators who have recently found Arch Linux. Great piece of work! smile

I've been wondering if there's anything I could do to support development of Arch Linux. I don't have the skills nor the time to actually write any code etc., but I'd love to know if there's need for CPU power, storage space, new FTP site mirror or anything similar that I could help with.

Please let me know what kind of needs the community has, and I'll see if I can help somehow.

Keep up the good work! smile

Re: Supporting Arch

Just a suggestion: would there be need for another Arch mirror in Finland? My employer, who is gaining significant help from Arch Linux based servers and workstations, would probably be happy to offer some space from their soon-to-be-bought 20 TB NAS server. Which, naturally, runs Arch Linux. wink

I'm *so* happy about the ease of maintenance of Arch servers! I love the security and stability of OpenBSD, but I got sick and tired of having to make a full system re-installation once a year for all servers. Ok, you could probably have done the upgrade online, but OpenBSD isn't really too easy to upgrade that way. Lots of manual work and so on. At least until now, Arch has been very stable on all those servers I'm maintaining. Excellent work! smile

I'm pretty sure mirrors would be much appreciated. I'm not sure what the process is to become an Arch mirror, but its been asked before so a forum search might help.

Dunno bout mirror... sixnix mirror seems fast to me.
Only thing that comes to mind is if you'd collect/ automatically compile aur/ pro audio whatnot packages (most voted packages for example) and make a repo out of them. I'd use it ^^
