Look at wine wiki - usefull registry entries at http://www.winehq.org
There it is written how to foul the programs that you have IE and how to get up GECKO running.

Yes i have looked at the wiki and I get confused as how/what to do with the regedit thing. Could someone please clarify this and make it easier for me to understand.

The second part is installing the registry entries to fool programs; Go to http://wiki.winehq.org/UsefulRegistryKeys scroll down to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE and then add the "Internet Explorer" keys using regedit.

Re: wine query

first run regedit:

wine regedit

Then press the + at HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE,
Then the + at Software,
Then the + at Microsoft,
Then the + at Internet explorer
Then edit (or add) the following two keys.:

>W2kVersion
[Useful to make application believe that you have Internet Explorer
installed (if you set it manually, you might need some IE provided
dlls). Set them to "6.0.2800.1106" for IE6SP1.]

>Build
[Same as above. Set it to "62800.1106" for IE6SP1.]

EDIT: That way I managed to install ICQ 5.1 (Not that it run, though)
