During a recent update(I havn't updated in a month or so) which was quite big 400-500mb after the update and after a reboot, I now have these lines ontop of my screen only with slim and on my xserver background. In a game the lines aren't there. I tried a different monitor to make sure my monitor wasn't going bad, but the lines were still there. Below is a screenshot of the lines:
Would a nvidia package update do this? Or a X server update? Because I am clueless on why it's only on my slim, and on my xserver background. It doesn't persist in and full screen games.

looks like it could be font-related.
If you maximize another app, say aterm, do these lines show also ?
Disliking systemd intensely, but not satisfied with alternatives so focusing on taming systemd.
clean chroot building not flexible enough ?

Yes, it doesn't seem to have anything to do with fonts, it's not just on firefox, it's on my actual desktop. I moved firefox up so you could see the lines (I have a fairly dark background). But yes, it will draw over aterm, and any other window thats in it's way. If it's fullscreen(such as a game) they do not show.

It happens on slim, and on my background, so I don't think it background image related.
edit: changed background to test, it shows up on alll background images, so something is drawing those lines.

Ok, sofar we have eliminated fonts and background as possible cause.
now try starting X from console with startx so we can determine if slim or X is the cause .

hmm, thats odd, slim is the bad con here. Started X without slim and no more lines.
