I believe it's like in arc, just look at the logo.

probably depends on how much math he has taken.
In math arch is usually pronounces "ark" as in "arch cosine" pronounced "ark coe-sign"
But since there is already an arklinux, I always have pronounced it arch as in "archer", so as not to confuse the two.

I say it like "Are-ch", stressing the "ch"...

I believe it's like in arc, just look at the logo.
To me the logo looks more like an arch, as in the Roman arches, not like an arc, as in a section of a circle...
I never thought about calling it anything but Arch ch ch ch, but maybe I'm wrong. My pronunciation is even worse than spelling.
Judd could answer this question, or maybe Xentac could, since he talks to Judd in person sometimes. Me, its just speculation.

Arch, like the golden arches. Archer, Archibald, Archie... It is not pronounced like ark.
A good way to think of it is mentioned in the docs... or a review or interview or something... Arch comes from arch nemesis.

In polish that would be something like: "ersz/ch"

I didn't know that arc had something to do with circles, I meant it like roman arches, but I thought it was pronounced ark (in spanish K is rarely used, so I wrote it arc).

hmm..being that it was a question about the pronunciation of archlinux, and it was in the archlinux discussion area, I found it to be a relatively gername topic...

Still, I think the most important question is:
How do you pronounce "irssi"?

Maybe Judd could tell us how 'Arch' should be pronounced :?:
(my personal thought: ArCH, CH as in 'baCHelor', 'merCHandise')

yes IceRAM is right. Judd give us an ogg spelling Arch.
it's important to know if it like in baCHelor or like in arCHitecture

lol..
I remember the old Linux sound setup utility used to have an audio test of Linus pronouncing Linux.
