GNOME 2.20.1 control-center errors. Where is libslab?

So, I started looking for libslab.so somewhere in places like /usr/lib/ as I guessed from

but, it looks, there is none on my arch?
And, it looks that gnome (gconf-editor) doesn't  save settings, e.g animations I wanted to get rid off.

Also, Gnome starts with pop-up's complaining about CORBA...

Extra info - xorg.sh is in place...
Ideas?
