kdemod: kbuildsycoca only finds kde apps

I don't know if this is a problem many others have had, but it seems that kbuildsycoca makes me a kmenu with only kde applications. How can I fix this?

This is the output I get by the way.

It will, however, find the other apps if I run it as root, but once I restart kde, it's back to the kde exclusive kmenu.

[edit]I just tried saving the kmenu after running kbuildsycoca --noincremental as root and no dice. It goes back to the kde app only kmenu.
