Problem on rt2x00-cvs ralink driver

Hello there

I have reinstalled Arch after trying other distros, and this time I have decided to try rt2x00 instead of rt73 legacy driver for my rt73 wireless card. I have installed it through pacman -S rt2x00-cvs rt2x00-rt71w-fw to get the driver and the firmware, and added rt2x00lib, rt2x00usb and rt73usb to the modules array in /etc/rc.conf.

The problem is that when I run ifconfig, I only get lo and eth0 as interfaces, while if I run iwconfig, I get both wlan0 and wmaster0 shown. I can change essid essid and key from wlan0 but I can't bring it up as ifconfig doesn't recognize wlan0 as an interface.

Has anyone seen this before?

Thanks a lot

wlan0 and wmaster0 should be displayed by ifconfig -a, and ifconfig wlan0 up should work. If it's not working, check that the firmware has been loaded correctly, and look for relevant error messages in your logs.

I have already solved it, thanks to the rt2x00 forum. hwdetect said that I also needed the rt2500usb module, but that wasn't true. Unloading it and reloading rt73usb solved it smile
