Re: About the future of Arch Linux Newsletter.

Thanks a lot people, for the great compliments. I really appreciate the feedback, in fact I should make something so feedback can be given easily, any suggestions on this will be appreciated. It really was a great pleasure to make all this hard work available for you guys.

@dolby,
Yeah, sorry about the typos in this newsletter, I didn't got the time to double check on typos and grammar mistakes. I will look to it for the next newsletter that it is better grammatically speaking.

How about running the NL on a CMS or blogging sw? It would do what you need, and it would also have searchable archives.

One more idea: quotes from the Arch Planet... maybe even dig in the archives and quote really, really old stuff...

And another: interview with Judd (or has this been done already?)

It is no secret that the grammar on this newsletter was bad, and I do have a public apology for all of you. Please read it, and I hope is accepted. Thanks.

Re: About the future of Arch Linux Newsletter.

Hey Kensai,

If you like, you can send the newsletter to me for a final proofreading and grammar correction before you publish it. I can probably do it in less time than you and it will give you more time to focus on the excellent content you're providing.

Don't be so hard on yourself for a bit of bad grammar. Knowing a second language well enough to volunteer to write a newsletter in it is a great accomplishment. You've done a great job here and should be proud of it.

Re: About the future of Arch Linux Newsletter.

Thank you for your nice newsletter smile I have missed it for a long time now. Good it is up again.

You earlier asked for opinions about stats. I am interested in such matters, so some times now and then it would be interesting to get some info on how big we are, how many registered users there are and other statistical figures. But it doesn't have to be every fortnight.

All "critical" updates and innovations would also be nice to read about in advance before the system crashes, as well as some explanation afterwards as to what happened when it happens.

Another matter of concern is some highlighting on the wiki pages. Some of them are not that trustworthy. But I guess it falls out of the scope for your work. See it as a hint if you sometimes run out of topics to highlight this issue.

But in general I am very pleased.

Re: About the future of Arch Linux Newsletter.

Hi guys, I know its been a long time since the last newsletter was released, and I haven't published another once since the end of November. But, actually I'm working on it, this past two weeks were intense for me because of university and work. But, really I'm working on some great new additions for the newsletter and an html cleanup. I am going to work on the organization of the newsletter, I would like to make it more consistent. Ang I'm working on the user contributions side, some users have contacted me to write or contribute with ideas and I welcome them, since the newsletter is for your reading pleasure. So if you want to contribute, drop me an email.

Thanks,

Eduardo "kensai" Romero

Re: About the future of Arch Linux Newsletter.

Sounds good kensai.
A good article: http://www.lifereboot.com/2007/nothing- … e-perfect/
It reminded me that I, myself, need to write a bit more too..and not obsess over whether I think it is 'perfect enough'.

Hope your university studies are going well.
