I reinstalled Arch a few weeks ago, and recently I've been running into the same problem that dissuaded me over the winter- namely, it seems that the longer I have Arch, the slower Gnome becomes. Gnome slows down in general the longer I have the system up - in hours, not days - and every three to four times I boot the system, X and Gnome are hardly responsive at all. It won't load programs and doesn't even seem to motivate my processor when I try to run applications. A reboot always fixes this, but I have to Ctrl-Alt-Bksp to terminal to reboot. The terminal works fine, but again, X just drags. Is this a known problem, and if it is, what can I do?
