I just installed Arch64 few days ago. In my old setup I was used to work with 2 softwares: Eclipse CDT and WingIDE.
I tried to start these applications (they require java and python but they are binary releases) locally and I get this errors which I can't solve by myself googling... Reporting snapshots of my desktop too.

seems like eclipse is 32bit, see nspluginwrapper package in AUR to figure out howto deal with the pango problem (you need to read /usr/lib/nspluginwrapper/noarch/npviewer and maybe copy the pango stuff from there).
You might need the GCONV_PATH stuff from it too.

This is a 32 bit problem. In the specific the 32 bit gtk setup seems to be broken or, at last, bad.
Wingide 32 bit works changing the preferences file to use the internal build gtk.
There are new 64bit packages at eclipse.org and wingware.com.
I used 64 bit package for eclipse. Smooth run.
I used 64 bit for Wingide 3. Smooth run but if I set to use my system gtk there is the same problem again.
I think lib32-gtk should be fixed in this.
Thank you Neverth!!!:)

Could you explain the whole thing more clearly?
I want to run EasyEclipse 1.2.2, symptoms similar as J_Zar wrote.

There has been talk about adding these config files, that fixes this kinda problems, to a separate pkg with a helper script you run 32bit programs with.
for quick fix
Link
Grab the 3 pango files, throw them somewhere, edit pangorc to corresponding paths for the 2 other files.
Start program with
export PANGO_RC_FILE="/path/to/pangorc"
program
for the string error, if its iconv
export GCONV_PATH=/opt/lib32/usr/lib/gconv
to previous command
Note, you cant start 64bit programs that use pango/iconv from the terminal you exported the variable.

We really need to decide on one location for the pango.modules, pangorc, and other config files needed to run bin32-programs. Since I am maintaining bin32-acroread, I also need pango.modules, pangorc, and gdk-pixbuf.loaders to make the program work properly. The maintainer of bin32-realplayer is also having the same issue.
Until I saw your link above I didn't know any other programs were also using these config files. Having to install the config files with each program and using several locations is a very poor work around.
We need to either have the config files installed with the lib32 library (the best option) or create a library with just the config files so our programs can check and see if the conf files have already been installed.
