syslog-ng problem

After my recent system upgrade, syslog-ng is taking 100% cpu resources because it can't write to the syslog.log file and the everything.log file, and so it's writing non-stop an error message to errors.log , which it can access. Somehow syslog.log and everything.log have a different owner than root. They have the owner ??????????. I can't even delete them or change ownership of them using root which I don't understand. Even tried booting up with Slax to try to remove them but that failed too.

I'm stuck! Any ideas besides doing a reinstall?

Thanks.

Re: syslog-ng problem

Did you try to run fsck ?

pacman roulette : pacman -S $(pacman -Slq | LANG=C sort -R | head -n $((RANDOM % 10)))
