Hi, I've this problem with Arch64:
Hardware Error
CPU 1: Machine Check Exception: 4 bank 0: b60d400000000135
TSC 3d1477fa750 ADDR 7e300438
This is not a Software Problem!
Run through mcelog --ascci to decode and contact your hardware vendor
Kernel Panic - Not Syncing: Machine Check
I have this problem in a firts installation and then in Arch before installation
The processor is an AMD Athlon X2 6000+ with a Motherboard Asus M2N-e SLI with chipset Nvidia 500
Thanks

Time to open the case? I would try pulling the cpu, memory, and video card and reassembling as a first step.

Thanks for the info colnago!
The strange is that in other distributions, the error doesn't appear. I will try to compile a new kernel with entire support for the arquitecture, because i think that the problem has the origin there.
Thanks!

Is arch the only 64 bit OS you are trying? If so, maybe it is the processor.

i dont think hardware is actually always to blame for machine check exceptions even if that's what you see printed to the console. on vista, if you install alcohol 120%, you will get a fatal stop error, window's form of MCE every time, regardless of the setup. do you get the MCE with a base-only installation?
