I am facing problem with file transfer using pidgin, never had this issue with kopete. But i can't install kopete because I am not using kde and kopete depends heavy on kde. Is there any alternatives available.

It seems there is not a single instant messenger in Linux which just works even if not perfect.

I never been able to transfer files using pidgin w/ yahoo.
Sometimes it looks as it's sending, progress bar and everything, yet the file never appears on the receiver's end.

I am using gain now pidgin for a long time, they are unable to provide this simple thing. Pidgin team should take help fro kopete team. On kopete file transfer works.

As far as I know aMSN is the only msn-client that supports direct file transfers. Pidgin for example routes files through ms-servers which is dead slow.

Is any one using kopete, then please post the server configs of kopete for yahoo.

Slightly offtopic, but KMess should support direct transfers too.
