Preload Gnome Session during Boot

When I start my computer, I usually walk away and grab something to drink..
As soon as I return I see GDM, and while logging in I have to wait till the gnome session loads...

Is it possible to log in my user account in the background during boot up and lock the session automatically?
Or maybe just preloading all required Gnome libraries and programs, like gnome-panel

That might speed things up a bit...

Thanks smile

Re: Preload Gnome Session during Boot

Hrmm... well you could always enable the auto-login feature for GDM and then run the "gnome-screensaver --lock" command in your startup scripts in order to lock the desktop as soon as it logs in.

That's just one idea though... there are likely other ways of doing the same thing.
