Re: I have managed to install arch yay - wireless card install?

I installed the wlan-ng driver since it says it will work on my network card but it hasn't, all ive done is literally just installed the drivers, do i need to do anything with them??

I would use the ndiswrapper but how do i unzip a zip file?? also what will i need to de-compress .tar files and so??

Thanks for the help

Re: I have managed to install arch yay - wireless card install?

Read the wiki page again. There are two parts to the page. You did Part I: Wireless Drivers by installing wlan-ng. Nice work. Now, after Part I, the user is expected to move on to Part II: Wireless Management. If you don't know how that you should do Part II after Part I, I would say Arch isn't for you. We generally assume that users have the comprehensions skills necessary to figure out what to do after finishing Part I of a 2-part process.

Re: I have managed to install arch yay - wireless card install?

The problem was that after doing part 1 is the system cant recognise my wireless card.

So while yes i did the second part of setting up a profile and so on and also installed network manager it was all pointless since my card wasnt being picked up

Ive dropped arch linux for now might try it another time when i have plenty of free time on my hands

Re: I have managed to install arch yay - wireless card install?

gauntface, I'm not sure if you're reading this any more, but I just have to say this. To unzip a .zip file:

unzip nameoffile.zip

You might need to install unzip:

pacman -Sy unzip

From reading your post, I understand that was your problem. You might be right, then. It's possible that Arch Linux isn't for you. Try Ubuntu.
