Building an older package

I would like to build liarliar from 04 IIRC, but for whatever reason if fails during configure because it can't find gtkmm-2.0, gthread-2.0, and gstreamer-0.6. What files would I need to edit to have it stop looking for these files or look for the current versions so that it would compile, hopefully. If it won't compile due to changed features in the newer versions, I was wondering if anyone had a link or advice regarding how to built/install the specific versions this program is looking for. TIA!

gstreamer-0.6 will be a problem as even gstreamer-0.8 apps in general don't work with gstreamer-0.10.

You will have to build these older packages yourself first.  See if you can find the source archived on the project page and perhaps an old PKGBUILD in arch cvs.
