'pacman -Qo' is for already installed applications. xorg-apps is not included in a default install of X.org (pacman -S xorg-server xf86-input-mouse xf86-input-keyboard xorg-video-*something* xorg-xinit)

the computer gets unresponsive so opening a terminal would take forever if at all
I assume it's really that the X server gets unresponsive -- when this happens, and you want a terminal to get things under control, just alt-ctrl-F2.

you could always alias some keybinding to 'pkill firefox'
...or switch to opera
