Whenever I try to start it from terminal, the window opens, shows "Loading.....", and then the window vanishes.

Let me make a guess. The error message refers to sdl. Frozen Bubble relies on three sdl packages:
sdl_perl sdl_mixer sdl_pango
You can try refreshing all these packages using:
pacman -Sy sdl_perl sdl_mixer sdl_pango
When pacman says they are up to date (or whatever), go ahead and reinstall them anyway. One of them could have gotten corrupted.

Does that file still exist on your system? Perhaps try and reinstall libpng and frozen-bubble too...

Thank you for your time.
I have already updated the following packages to the latest versions:
sdl_perl, sdl_mixer, sdl_pango, libpng and frozen-bubble.
Also, the file /usr/share/frozen-bubble/gfx/menu/txt_pick_start_level_over.png exists.
Still, the same error!
Is anyone else being able to play the game, or is it just me?

Works fine for me, check the md5sum of your file, looks like your copy might be corrupted. If so try to remove it before reinstalling it and see if that helps.

I agree, the game works fine. Chances are you will find some package that is not behaving itself. For example, it did not run correctly for me on one computer since there was something wrong with the perl installation on that computer: http://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=34657
Keep on poking around--including searching Google and you should run across the solution.

After reinstalling frozen-bubble and updating perl, the game now works fine!
Thanks all for your help!

Hmmm. Looks like the Perl installation was at fault again. Anyway, I am glad to learn that you worked it out.
