Core Dump

Er, I just upgraded with pacman -Syu on my x86_64 laptop.  Now at the login prompt we are called Arch Linux (Core Dump) and there is a big weirdness whereby if I change consoles out of Xfce4, e.g. Ctrl+Alt+F2 - I get a black screen with coloured lines on it.  No can change user without reset/reboot!  Is there some way out of this fix, please?

Re: Core Dump

Hello!

Write more about your hardware. Which video do you have? Post logs here. Also, you can use "su" to switch user.  Run emulator of terminal (gnome-terminal, xterm or another one) and type "su user".

Good luck!

Re: Core Dump

Hey thanks guys!
I'm gonna use "su" for the time being, breathe easy that everything hasn't, actually, gone pear-shaped - and get some work done!  I'll be back again to fix this issue when I get a few days spare... see ya
