[Gnome] Fast-user-switch-applet

It stopped working since gnome 2.20 upgrade. It doesn't even want to start, and automatically removes from panel when I try to restore it.

Hello,

Archlinux devs already know about this :

But I do not see what they can do since it is not under their responsability.

Gnome devs know too :

And they do not seem to be very worried about this problem ...

I will try to see if they have the problem at Ubuntu too and post some news as soon as possible.

Thank you for the information. I should have checked bug reports.

PS : I am also using Ubuntu 7.10 on my laptop, the applet works

Ubuntu applies some patch :

I am going to see why and what for and try some of them to see if it solves our problem.

I am happy it worked for you too p_schott

In the patches there are some nice improvements. For instance it fill in the name into gdm when you switch user, so that you only need to enter the password. This is not the case with the default applet where you have to enter again the name of the user, which is a bit silly, btw ...
