kernel pierlo/kamikaze/rt and cpu temps

I just installed the pierlo kernel and have notice higher cpu temps. I been using athcool w/ stock kernel and cpu stays cool when idle, but now the temp is rising even when idle. Is there a certain patch or option in the kernel causing this?

I just installed kamikaze and I am having the same problems w/ cpu temps. I am sure it has to do w/ a patch. Please if anyone knows what I can do to fix this let me know:)

Re: kernel pierlo/kamikaze/rt and cpu temps

Here I go again, the same thing is happening w/ the rt kernel in aur. This one I like a lot. But once again temps are 20 degrees higer when idle than when using stock kernel.

2 months later......no responce...someone must know something:-(

Obvious solution: use the stock kernel

take a look at the patchlists ,, there must be a common patch or subsystem tht's been enabled/disabled in there;
there-in im sure, lies your cpu troubles

Re: kernel pierlo/kamikaze/rt and cpu temps

Although I am no help to you, I used the kamikaze / zen kernel on my Intel Core 2 Duo machine, and CPU temps seem lower than the stock. Perhaps something is wrong with the ACPI fan control module?
