Hi everybody,
recently I found this little gem http://www.alte.ru/thelauncher/ and screenshots are here http://www.alte.ru/thelauncher/full1.png
The Launcher is minimalistic application launcher focused on touchscreen and keyboard usage. It tries do display as many relevant applications on the screen as possible. Currently, it has GTK+ frontend and supports Debian and freedesktop.org menus. As requirement this application requires GTK+ version 2.10.x. Other dependencies include Pygtk. I've been in contact with the author trying to find bugs and helping in whatever I can. I think this little application falls in the KISS principle, so I'm advertising it here, has is lightweight and can replace the new more heavy menu replacements. Give it a try.

Yes, but much more lightweight as it only depends on gtk and pygtk, that's the difference.
