Hi all,
Not sure if I maybe going over old ground here, but basically I need to edit menu entries in Gnome. I installed Scribus, but it hasn't put an icon for it in the menu, so I want to add an icon. Under Ubuntu and the ilk, I would jut go to the menu entry under Administration and I would be away, now I know gnome system tools isn't available in arch, so how does one go about manipulating the Gnome main menu?
Also on a side note, is Gnome 2.20.2 going to be available in Arch soon?
Cheers

Install alacarte and you'll find Menu Editor entry in System -> Preferences
# pacman -S alacarte

You could also simply add whatever "*.desktop" file you wish to "/usr/share/applications". In this case though you only need to edit the "scribus.desktop" file. Edit the "icon" line so it points right. In my system it says: "/usr/share/scribus/icons/scribusicon.png".
These "*.desktop" files are very easy to edit and will instantly be picked up by the system. I use XFCE4, but as far as I can understand it follows the same pattern as in Gnome.

@ uastasi, ti'n croeso
@ KimTjik, thanks for that, so now I have 2 ways to edit the menu's as I have read else where on the forums that alacarte has been giving some people problems.
Does anybody know if Gnome 2.20.2 is going to make it to Arch or will they skip this and go straight to 2.20.3 when they release it early next year?
