mic is blocked

hi
my problem is that the mic is set ok
when i put the mic unmuted i can hear my self threw the mic
but when i use tesmepak or skype for example nobody can hear me
is there anything block the mic or something?

I had sort of the same problem recently. I was trying to set up VOIP for Enemy Territory: Quake Wars and the settings would not work. I could see the mic activity when I tested it in Audacity, but I couldn't hear anything when I tested it in ET:QW.

I solved it by opening alsamixer in a terminal and pressing tab to get to Capture. I pushed Capture and Digital both up to 80 and then escaped out and then saved the settings:

sudo alsactl store

Using sudo the levels saved for my user. When I used the root account, they didn't. After that, VOIP has worked wonderfully in ET:QW. I don't know if any of this will help you.
