starcraft and vpn

Hello everyone i have a question. i got a friend that live in ohio and i live in ga. we both like playin starcraft. since i run arch linux i cant get on battle.net .

i was wondering if i could set up a VPN so that we can play like its local network. ive tried to install hamachi for linux from source but it never seemed to work even though it said it installed stuff into sbin.

i then tried to install hamachi in wine (which didnt work and i didnt really expect it to.)

i finally figured i can set up a vpn manually with openvpn but i dont really know where to start and was wondering if some one could help me with this. or if there is a better alternative i would like to hear it.

WooHoo! Another Georgian using Arch, I was begining to think I was the only one.

Don't know too much about starcraft or hamachi, but if you're looking to learn openvpn http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/OpenVPN_Bridge might be a good place to start.

Re: starcraft and vpn

There are quite a few comments in the wine database about battle.net (most are reported problems, but I think I saw a success story or two) (link).
