fan problem. hot notebook

I'have a problem with my fan.
It never starts and my notebook become so hot that i can't put my hands on.
I get the temperature with acpi and lm-sensor but my fan doesn't start.
Any idea?

You've gotta give more info than that, bro. What model laptop is it? What modules are loaded?

go and buy a fan for your notebook
notebooks cant work at high temp

do it fast
it can cause dmg

I've an Acer Travelmate 3012
with win and my previous installation of gentoo fan work very well
I've loaded the acpi deamon and the sensors daemon.
But in my /proc/acpi/fan I have only empty files...
