I am currently running gnome, and I can't seem for the life of me to do this. I install the polyester theme from community and I ran qtconfig to see if it was an option. nope. I even installed gtk-qt-engine to see if that would do something. nothing so far. am i missing something?
edit: i had to add that directory that is mentioned below and make sure that it is on top of the list

You're probably running the qtconfig for QT4. Try running /opt/qt/bin/qtconfig to configure QT3.

In QTConfig, go to the Library Paths tab and add the path /opt/kde/lib/kde3/plugins/ to the list. Save, reload qtconfig and (with any luck) Polyester and any other KDE styles should appear.
