bnx2 module broken in kernel 2.6.23

I tried upgrading my kernel again now that version 2.6.23 is more mature. But I am still unable to use this kernel because of networking issues caused by a broken bnx2 module. The module loads, but I am unable to connect to  my network. Dmesg shows that the module fails to correctly auto-detect the speed of the connection. Is there a way for me to force the connection speed?
