Truecrypt kills computer if anything writes to the volume?

Hi

I use a truecrypt-volum, if i start azureus or transmission and tell them to store the files on the mounted truecrypt volum the computer freezes up. Noe respons, not even killing x or reboot. Nothing.
How can i fix this?
