Installation screencast

I'd like to make a "screencast" of the archlinux install. You know, to show it off. I'm not sure how to go about this.

Ideally, some really low-level software would take care of things for me, but  I doubt that exists.
Or, I could pipe the video to another computer with special hardware that takes dvi/vga input, can record it, and can output it again so I can see what I'm doing. This could exist, but I haven't looked. Plus, buying hardware costs bucks.
Then again, I could run the install in a virtual machine, but I have no experience with that.
I could also use a digital camera to take photos along the way. Maybe I should buy one of those.

What would you do?

Re: Installation screencast

You can run the install in VMware and capture images (In the menu -> Capture screen).

Re: Installation screencast

I would go the virtual way by using qemu and record it with one of the available programs to capture screencasts - it's actually pretty easy.

First you have to create the disk image you plan to install arch to

qemu-img create -f qcow2 hda.img 5000MB

Download the arch install CD and start the installation process:

qemu -hda hda.img -cdrom arch-install.iso -boot d

Thanks! It's time I looked into virtual machines.
