Re: Core Dump oO?

I was also surprised at this "Core Dump" big_smile .

I installed "Don't Panic" on my friend's PC who actually liked user-Friendly distros. I just  gave him some print-outs of Archwiki. He never complained to me that he had to do command-line work.  After 1 month I asked him why did not he complain to me ?  you know what he said ?

He said: " I always cried for I had to do "Xorg -confiugre", "/etc/rc.conf" editing and these kinds of weired things but I never complained because whenever I booted it says "Don't Panic"  lol

so I think next release should be named AIDS  tongue

"Null Pointer", "Segmentation Fault", "Stack Overflow"  I like the release names as errors too big_smile

Re: Core Dump oO?

and in this error-context "phrak" or "hacked phrak" wouldn't be only a tribute to our new overlord but also a nice error-message, as kensai stated out! wink

edit: I just recognized that "hacked phrak" could also be a *buntu-codename...

Re: Core Dump oO?

I have to admit, it worried me too, I thought my messing with repositories had caused some sort of problem. Cute name, but maybe something a little less....catastrophic?

Re: Core Dump oO?

Being new to Arch, I got to see the 'don't panic' during the install. Then I almost shat myself when I saw 'core dump.' It took about 15 sec. of panic before I realized it was a release name. THEN I laughed.

Nice one.

/etc/rc.d/ is where daemons reside. Beware.
