when we'll be getting rid of /lib64?

Hi,

I know Arch64 is aiming to be pure 64bit, so do the developers have the intention of getting rid of /lib64 and leaving just a symbolic link /lib64 -> /lib? (Like in Debian)?

Its existence is not a big problem, and what I describe is not Arch's problem, but when I was playing with pkgsrc, lang/perl5 faled to build because of that. The workaround was simple, but nevertheless (there occurred another problem with lang/perl5, but I don't think Arch has anything to do with it).

Also, I see that most of the packages for x86_64 don't install libs in /lib64 but to /lib, the only exception being glibc. So is it right that I can safely remove /lib64 and the only thing I will have to do is recompile glibc?

Not sure, but I definitely wouldn't do it in that order...
