glibc-2.5
hi
is there any way i could install the newest glibc together with 2.5?
a game i play has a very poor performence and one developer says that it may be because of a "to new" glibc version(the program was compiled with a system using glibc-2.5).
even if it isnt possible, is there a way where i can get hands on a precompiled 2.5 lib?
i tryed to use the old 2.5 PKGBUILD from the Arch CVS without success.
even then, i would have ONLY the old glibc.

I currently have well over 100 packages on my system that depend on glibc. Regressing it to an older version is going to cause all sorts of problems.

thats why i whant to keep the new one and use the old one only for this application, IF it is possible

There really isn't a good way to roll back glibc on Arch. You could run another distro virtualized until the problem is corrected with the game's dev(s).

A program compiled on glibc 2.5 is theoretically supposed to be able to run on glibc 2.7, but not vice versa. Glibc developers are said to pay lots of attention to backwards compatibility.
