i686, x86_64, and LVM2

I was running i686 Arch. I got a new HD, and installed x86_64 with LVM2 on the new one, and dual-booted for a while. This setup allowed easy access to 32-bit libs, obviously; additionally, a couple of games I play (albeit infrequently) only run at a decent frame-rate / at all under x86_64 on my old nVidia GeForce2/MX-400.

Then the original HD died.

This install isn't yet overly complicated and involved, and I can see some minor changes (fs types, for one) I'd like to make in the setup, anyway, I've really taken to LVM.

I'm thinking about doing a full reinstall, installing i686 Arch (with LVM2), then x86_64 Arch. Can both installs share LVM physical volumes and groups? Swap space? I've found no explicit prohibition on sharing either an LVM volume or swap space.

TIA very much.

D'uh - the games only run at an acceptable frame-rate or at all under *i686*.

I didnt try to share i686/x86_64 lvm, but there should be no problem: the format of signatures and so on is definitely architecture independent.

Swap get reinitialized every boot, so you can share swap (you can share swap even between different systems, like freebsd, linux, etc...)
