AMD Catalyst™ Linux 7.11 (fglrx 8.433)

I have some issues with the latest catalyst 7.11-1 & catalyst-utils 7.11-1

1.) When starting the Screen Saver Euphoria (GL) after moving the mouse my computer freeze.
2.) When try to open the Catalyst Control Center, it's only open in my root account. Missing the Option for open it in my User account. It doesn't ask for Root Password, it want open.

Maybe some User or @Cerebral from the ATI Expert's have a work around for me smile

So, when you run 'amdcccle' from the command-line, what happens - do you get an error message?  Nothing at all?

As for the GL screensaver, that doesn't surprise me.  OpenGL in the last two releases of fglrx/catalyst has had a memory leak which may be the source of your problem.

amdcccle works correctly for me.

It doesn't send any output to the terminal when I run it (neither STDERR nor STDOUT); it just launches a Welcome window.  See if it inadvertently launched on a different workspace/tag.

Have you tried turning on/off AIGLX?  If it still fails, disable Composite.

Hm, that might be the problem - usually you'd expect to have two agp modules loaded - agpgart and ${chipset}-agp, where chipset is whatever motherboard chipset you have.

Try running hwdetect --show-agp - does it give you more than just the 'agpgart' module?

Yes I know about it . When I load intel-agp module and start kdm my PC hangs up. sad

Heya...

Same here. Bought a ATI HD2600 Pro AGP Card and can confirm wojak.  While booting the first time my Sys freezed into nowhereland without a chance to change to a TTY or to kill X.

Got the card running with "vesa", but thats not an option to keep for very long.

Here's the tail of a (unsuccessful) start of X. Anybody knows what to do next, after doing every little thing I knew (and now know) about the config I'm out of options. :-/ Bad feeling that is...
