Re: ROX-Filer doesn't start

It works here, so I can only guess - going by the "Gtk-WARNING"s and the fact that some GTK stuff was changed in the latest release - that it might be related to your .gtkrc or .gtkrc-2.0. Or maybe the theme you're using?

Re: ROX-Filer doesn't start

I can confirm this behaviour:

rox -v

Pour plus d'information \xe0 ce sujet, voir le fichier \xab\xa0COPYING\xa0\xbb.

Tournant avec GTK version 2.12.3

Support des fichiers longs... Oui
Support dnotify... Oui
[Invalid UTF-8] Compatibilit\xe9 binaire... Non (apsymbols.h non trouv\xe9)
[Invalid UTF-8] Support des attributs \xe9tendus... Oui

Excerpt when i launch rox in a terminal:

(ROX-Filer:16468): Gtk-WARNING **: Invalid input string
(ROX-Filer:16468): Gtk-WARNING **: Invalid input string
(ROX-Filer:16468): Pango-WARNING **: Invalid UTF-8 string passed to pango_layout_set_text()
(ROX-Filer:16468): Pango-WARNING **: Invalid UTF-8 string passed to pango_layout_set_text()

I've already opened a ticket for it (FS#8900), but it doesn't seem to grant much attention at the moment.
Maybe can you add a comment to confirm.

To me, this is a problem with charsets, at least ones with accents.

Re: ROX-Filer doesn't start

That's right.
After setting "LOCALE=fr_FR.UTF-8" in my rc.conf and rebooting, the problem disappeared.

Thank you zyon, you saved my time, as rox is my filer of choice, and i was a bit sad without it.
