Re: What interface?

Try running these commands and post the output here.  These will basically let us know whether there are some problems with your xorg.conf configuration:

cat /etc/X11/xorg.conf | grep EE

cat /etc/X11/xorg.conf | grep WW

Re: What interface?

Sorry, long day and I'm not thinking right...  Try this instead:

cat /var/log/Xorg.0.log | grep EE
cat /var/log/Xorg.0.log | grep WW

Re: What interface?

No. The whole /etc/X11/xorg.conf, the whole /var/log/Xorg.0.log, ~/.xinitrc, ~/.xserverrc, and whatever else might be relevant.
And run pacman -Syu before all that, just to be sure.

Re: What interface?

Evidently something is wrong with your xorg configuration.  I've never used an ati card so I don't have much experience with it but from what the errors are saying it looks like there is some error with dri.  You had it working at some stage, do you know what it was that you changed that made things stop working?

In either case, you can try disabling dri in xorg.conf or generating a new xorg.conf file using one of the methods described in the wiki http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Xor … uring_xorg.  If this doesn't work please follow byte's advice and post your full Xorg.0.log and xorg.conf files using pastebin (pastebin.archlinux.org for example).  In fact it might be a new idea to start a new thread that's about your xorg problem - I'm not sure that people who might be able to help are necessarily looking in here, since this topic was originally about something else.
