Hi, Iam using arch and I must show my presentation in school via external vga out. But i dont know if there is any tool to do it or how to configure X?
Please let me know how to do it ;-)

Usually on laptops there's a button for switching on/off the external vga port.
Like: fn+F8
I've had one laptop though that doesn't want to enable the external display by doing this. Havn't had time to figure out why but if I were to guess I'd say something like it's not configured hence it isn't avaible.
Try the first tip otherwise I'd recommend you to run an `lspci' and check if several video devices turns up.

actually I am having the same problem. My laptop doesn't connect with the projector by pressing the standard Fn+F8 combination that should work on my dell latitude.
I remember when I had ubuntu the laptop was connecting instantly to the projector as soon as it was connected.
How can we solve this problem. It is pretty important
Is it maybe that the combination Fn+F8 is not assigned to the function of switching to the external display? How can I verify that?
