booting up, lots of red lines...

When my computer boots up using the zen kernel from AUR. I see a lot of red lines that scroll by but my computer still boots and runs fine.

what I was wondering is how can I find out exactly what these red lines where saying and how do I find the information I need to diagnose these problems. I tried dmesg and it says a lot, but it doesn't output red lines like when the computer is booting so I have no idea what I am looking for.

Any suggestions on how to either slow down the boot process so I can read the damn screen or is there another easier way?

Re: booting up, lots of red lines...

/var/log/messages.log
/var/log/kernel.log

however installing 3.5GB of git sources seems a little excessive.

Re: booting up, lots of red lines...

or..

echo "read KEY" >> /etc/rc.local

that way you can scroll up with SHIFT+PG UP and down with PG DN, then ENTER when done.

I need real, proper pen and paper for this.
