I am working on AL-AMLUG version 0.5 and plan to change its purpose to act more as a demo CD instead of a workstation disk. It will still function as a rescue CD, HD installer and testing Linux compatible hardwares. Some office and multimedia packages, mysql and php will be removed to give place for Desktops and WMs so users can try other xwindows beside KDE.

Default setup of Desktops and WMs beside KDE, are not presentable. There are are plenty of nice setups in this forum. I am asking users to post here links. Don't post your own screenshot but others you prefer could be added in LiveCD.
I have not yet decided what WMs to include. Most likely GNOME, XFec4, Fluxbox and FVWM (the fvwm-devel version is nice).
In my brief browsing I found these links:

If you include Fluxbox in it (and you really should ;p), include the fluxbox-devel version, it's much better than the stable one.

Main idea for users to have a look at different Desktops and WMs. Currently I don't think there is such live CD.
As a workstation CD (office, multimedia, saving data on Thumb Drive and running an UserID from TD) the compressing system (zisofs) is slow. Also low in free memory for this type of purpose. But it runs fine as a demo CD. Moreover from feedback, I assume 95% used as a demo and to install Arch in HDD (hwd is the key).
PS.
This change gives scope for other devs to build a workstation or developer AL Live CD.

Its a good point 8)
By the way... if you intend to make a Desktop/WM demo liveCD, then IT MUST include Enlightenment... ! the greatest of them all! IMHO.

Well, if you're looking to use that config for FVWM as a window manager, you'd probably have to let me modify it a little more, as it's not fully done, but it works. Also, there's a couple packages that you'd need for it to fully function also, such as imagemagick (for the iconified images). That, and the actual program images need to be fixed. But, you can use it if you want. If I get a chance, I'll work on it later.

Would it be possible to put the setup in a tarball + how-to and e-mail it to me ..... or how-to only?

I could tar it for you, but the thing would be the how-to. I originally got it from someone else, and I'm not too keen with FVWM customization, but I can definitely get you the config file...
