request_module: runaway loop modprobe binfmt-464c

Lastly I've been trying to install the 64-bit version of archlinux (http://ftp.archlinux.org/other/rc-iso/2007.11/x86_64/Archlinux-x86_64-2007.11-0.4.core.iso, md5 sum check: OK) on an AMD Turion X2. However I'm receiving the following message at boot time, afterwards the laptop hangs: "request_module: runaway loop modprobe binfmt-464c". What could be the cause and the solution ?

From http://www.handhelds.org/hypermail/fami … /4572.html :

Also, there is no binfmt-464c module, this message means you're trying to
run a binary that's been compiled for wrong system architecture, ie. i386
instead of the ARM processor that's in iPAQ.

The CPU is "AMD Turion 64 X2", so how could be http://ftp.archlinux.org/other/rc-iso/2 … 4.core.iso the wrong architecture?

I'm not really sure what's happening here either. It's the correct ISO, at least in name. Does this start right after it's first installed?

I would file a bug report for this one. The devs will see it much more quickly.
