opera 9.25-1

The Update opera 9.25-1 is still incompatible to the flashplugin 9.0.115.0-1.

I have complet Uninstall the opera 9.24 packages and also removed from /usr/share/lib/opera and /usr/share/opera.

Then I installed opera 9.25!

Just tested flash and everything seems cool, running opera through 32bit chroot on arch64.

Re: opera 9.25-1

Wait, you all mean to say flash doesn't crash? Do this:

Open www.veoh.com in a tab
Open www.veoh.com in another tab
Refresh 1 tab
See if the flash video frame is now blank on the other

Anyway how's java? Showing up?

Re: opera 9.25-1

One goes blank, but if I refresh again flash seems to run on both instances / tabs. Seems to be the same on two different flash sites aswell. I doubt I'll be trying to watch two flash movies at the same time, so it's not a big deal for me.

Java seems fine. Here's a good site to test java and flash on the same page...

Re: opera 9.25-1

Great just verified through http://www.java.com/en/download/installed.jsp and previously it continued loading forever but now it's a success smile

Not much of flash movies, but the irritating thing is alotta sites are using this flash bling nowadays. Recently was browsing www.dimarzio.com and www.speedtest.net at the same time. I was testing my throughput from the latter site, and unknown to me when it opened a new applet, the (rather important) page on the former site was then a blank square. Hear this is fixed in 9.5, true?

Untrue. At least here:

http://omploader.org/vOTQ4
http://omploader.org/vOTQ3

Sorry to say. But when you leave a window that's displaying a plug in and then return, the plug in will go blank. No fix yet. Version is 9.50 Beta 2, Build 1719, i686...

Re: opera 9.25-1

Owww! With today's flash plugin upgrade now it doesn't work anymore on Opera, is there any fix for that so far?

Re: opera 9.25-1

According to http://www.adobe.com/support/documentat … notes.html Opera and Konqueror are not supported browsers, so users of these browsers can't expect much of Flash content.

Surprising thing is Konqueror never had problems like Opera, until this recent Flash update. Wonder what went wrong. Maybe the browsers have yet to implement/rid some extra/missing code.

edit: got it..

http://my.opera.com/csant/blog/2007/12/ … nd-plugins

The new Flash plugin is not compatible with the current Opera and Konqueror versions.

'nuff said. Opera 9.5 (still doesn't solve the refresh problem though), Konqueror 4 (in the future), Firefox 3 (BETA) or Flock are your options smile

Re: opera 9.25-1

Opera 9.5 is in testin. I would like to wait for that to come out of testing. For the time being, I've downgraded back to flashplugin-9.048.

The Opera Build in the Archlinux "testing" repo is the Beta 1 Release. What I am talking about is the latest weekly build from the Opera Development Team. Offcourse this is not a stable build, but you can help developmers when you posting your Error Reports.
