Just recently moved /home/username to my new thinkpad t61p. Now I don't have file previews in konqueror and konqueror only (I have previews in d3lphin and on the desktop). I have tried resetting the preview options in konqueror and in kcontrol, still, no luck. When I create a new user the previews work fine, though, I don't want to necessarily wipe my KDE settings. I've changed/looked at some files like ~/.kde/share/config/konquerorrc though I can't figure this error out for the life of me. I'm using KDEmod if it makes a difference. Any feedback would be appreciated.

Try konqueror >> settings >> configure konqueror >> previews and meta data and select all internet and local profiles
---for there is nothing either good or bad, but only thinking makes it so....

I tried that. I tried re-applying all settings, then no settings, then, just the dafault settings which is local protocol file only. No luck though.

Maybe it's a matter of permissions. I think that thumbnails are created on /home/user/.thumbnails and maybe the move put an incorrect owner (the another user's UID) or something

Good point; I did switch out laptops. Permissions look fine. I tried deleting all the files in ~/.thumbnails , though konqueror does not seem to be writing anything to this folder. D3lphin on the other hand writes thumbnails to this folder without any problem.
