Hello,
When I use an gtk application on my KDE desktop is has VERY ugly menubars. In firefox I could fix it by installing another theme but in apps like deluge I can't do that...
The terminal is how it should look like and the deluge window is how gtk apps look like. Any suggestions to fix this? It looks terrible. :-)

I once had the same thing going on with GTK-apps in KDE, although I used the GTK-QT-Engine. But some GTK-apps still looked terrible.
I then read in another forum that the GTK-apps are looking for a file ~/.gtkrc-2.0 but the file I had in my homefolder had the name ~/.gtkrc-2.0-kde . So I just copied .gtkrc-2.0-kde to .gtkrc-2.0 and since then everything is looking good. Try that!

That's because Gnome seems to use its default theme, which is utter ugliness. You'd better try to install some gnome themes (like community/clearlooks, which is a nice GTK-engine (aurora is good, too), and extra/gnome-themes(-extras) which provide a basic set of themes. Go to http://art.gnome.org for additional ones).
Then you have to tell GTK-apps to load that theme. I don't know if this is handled by the default arch-installs... if not, you must 'include' their gtkrc from your ~/.gtkrc-2.0.

I would install gtk-chtheme and the GTK-QT engine. change the GTK engine to GTK-QT with gtk-chtheme and off you go.

I know it's solved but I'd like to point out something: gtk default theme is that boxy ugly thing, the gnome gtk theme is actually, clearlooks and it's damn sexy.

Yeah, you're right, I mixed things up.
Though I wouldn't agree that clearlooks is sexy
