XFree86 or x.org

I was working my through finalizing my Arch install.  I ran pacman -Syu when i first started up and update all of the components.  I have an ati mobility 7500 video card and was next going to attempt tp configure XF86 (was getting no screens error).  So I came to the forums in search of answers and found that some people were saying to ati users to use x.org.  I plan on running Fluxbox-devel, Openbox, and maybe Xfce by the way, if that is needed Just wondering your thoughts. Thanks

Re: XFree86 or x.org

i promise you to choose the x.org package becouse of your ati mobility  , the ati-drivers only work at the x-org not at xfree86 4.4
btw xorg is much more free than xfree86 so it would be a easy choose wink

Re: XFree86 or x.org

I have an ati radeon 7500 and I use the native Xfree86 drivers for dri and they work just peachy.  It's only cards > 8500 that need the flglx drivers.
